From the age of 4 and until the day before their twelfth birthday, children can travel alone as a UM (unaccompanied minor). On domestic flights, unaccompanied children are checked in a maximum of 40 minutes before flight departure. The child will be assisted by airline personnel from the moment of boarding to the point of handover to the person responsible at destination.
On checking in, a UM wallet will be handed to you, containing airline ticket, identity documents, and a identification form to be completed by you, indicating the names of the persons bringing and collecting the child.
Air France accepts children from 12 to 17 as "unaccompanied children" on its flights. This service is charged for. Check with the airport or on www.airfrance.fr.
For children travelling out of French territory, please check with airport police authorities at the airport before departure that you have complied with necessary travel documentation.
